Barry Katzmann is an award-winning writer/editor/project manager, who has experience in the conception, implementation and execution of effective, compelling, creative strategies and has delivered original concepts and attention-getting, action-generating inbound and outbound messages for a diverse group of B2B and B2C businesses, including the arts, healthcare, high tech, automotive, food service, retail, publishing, nonprofit and more.

An expansive thinker, Barry has demonstrated the ability to lead and motivate creative teams. He’s a dependable self-starter with analytical, organizational and follow-through skills that deliver projects on schedule.

Katzmann has also authored, edited and contributed to several books including TV Dinners, a pop culture cookbook for the Penguin Group (Berkley Books); The Whole Pop Catalog, published by Avon; Uncle John’s 6th Bathroom Reader (Earthworks Press); and Ronin Publishing’s The Little Book of Ketamine, Timothy Leary’s Evolutionary Agents and others.

At Berkeley Systems, Barry worked as an interactive video quiz show computer game writer for Don’t Touch That Dial, a game created for the publisher of the popular You Don’t Know Jack series. He also contributed to the Millennium Edition of the popular game, Trivial Pursuit.

Katzmann has written news articles and humorous essays for several publications including the Sporting News, San Francisco Giants Magazine and the East Bay Express.

Along with his wife, Pat, he has also collaborated on a screenplay and authored The Blockbusters of Rhythm & Blues, a set of trading cards for Eclipse Books.

Barry Katzmann is also Secretary of the Board of Directors of Comedy Celebration Day, Inc. He also serves as the Marketing Communications Director for the organization. Since 1981, Comedy Day has presented an annual five-hour cavalcade of comedy in Golden Gate Park. Katzmann’s ADDY Award-winning radio spots, effective newspaper ads, press releases, sponsorship/vendor acquisition, social media expertise and efficient event management has helped San Francisco’s Comedy Day event grow from 5,000 to more than 60,000 attendees in a single day. He is responsible for the advertising, marketing, PR, social networking and promotional activities of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and for the content and design direction of its Web site (http://www.comedyday.org).

Barry Katzmann graduated with a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in Advertising in the school of Journalism/Mass Communications.
